Certificate of Appreciation has been awarded to Monenco Iran on behalf of Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) for Assessment of 400 kV voltage level Impact on operation of MIS Grid. The Scope of the project includes providing procedures to energize and operate new 400 kV transmission lines from Sur to Jahloot and Sur to Izki as well as assessing thier impact on operation of MIS grid.
Higher voltage levels in transmission network are capable of transmitting more power over longer distances. At the same time, there are more concerns and considerations for operation of such high voltage levels. Oman power system introduced new voltage level by operation of 400 kV transmission lines. In order to assess and measure the impact of these new transmission lines on the operation of MIS grid, some studies were conducted. The possible issues that could be arisen from energizing new 400 kV transmission lines were addressed and some procedures for successful energizing of these lines provided. Determining operation scenarios in the presence of new transmission lines by identifying transmission and generation bottlenecks as well as providing Standard Operating Procedure were in the scope of this project as well.
